“Beguiling entertainment. Sit down with a cup of coffee, put up your feet and read Small Magics. You’ll be glad you did.” – Jeanette Cottrell, author of The Shadebender’s Oath
When Thomas came home from the Royal Academy in threadbare clothes and carrying a rapier, he expected a scolding.
He didn’t expect to be thrown out of the house, or to meet a juggler who cold create a ball of light from air, or that the visiting Bishop would have a power in his voice that could make Thomas’s father do his bidding. And he certainly didn’t expect to stumble onto a plot to steal what magic is left in the world.
Before long, Thomas is thrust into a nightmare of betrayal and murder, where all that he has is threatened by a power he does not understand, and where learning to master a power he did not know he had may be the only way he can survive.
